Genbook Mobile Now in Live Beta!

Hey Genbookers! We are delighted to announce that we've just released Genbook Mobile for the iPhone. You can now access your Calendar and Inbox from your iPhone while on-the-go. Check, change or add new appointments, or update customer details from anywhere, anytime.

Genbook Mobile is available to all Genbookers. Just open the browser on your iPhone, go to "m.genbook.com" and follow the instructions.

This is a Beta release (i.e. there may still be some bugs) so expect a constant stream of updates and improvements.

Are there any plans for it to be mobile web accessible from other browsers as well, or is it only with the iPhone OS? We are on Verizon and have an Android phone and are looking at getting my wife one as well once Genbook works on it.

What a welcome addition! Now I can block off time, etc., while mobile when I need to. Thank you!

I have found this to be a really good thing. I'm using the Ipod Touch, and I don't have to have my computer on to use the application. This works great!

I am having a couple of problems with the I phone app. The first is that when I click on customer "look up", it is very difficult to scroll to actually find the customer that I am looking for, it thinks I am clicking when I am trying to scroll (I am being extra cautious on how I touch the screen). The second is that when I make an appointment, I can see that I have a blocked time, I would like to see what that blocked time is, because sometimes I can move things around. I would also like to see landscape mode available but that is not as vital as the others. I understand that it is still in beta, just wondering if these are things that you are working on. I would love to see these things fixed. Other than that, I love the Iphone app!

How about Blackberry viewing capabilities. This is a must for my business. How can I view my online calender from my Blackberry device?

Thanks for the help in advance,

Nick

We do intend to build a Blackberry-friendly mobile version down the line.

A mobile version for Android is likely coming within the next six months.

Stay tuned for updates!

Any progress on the Android app? I am on T-Mobile and would love love love to have mobile access to my genbook, but really don't want to go to AT&T.

Cornelia said...

Matt, no ETA on Android compatibility just yet. We're looking to do it by the end of this year, but that's subject to change.

Keep checking the blog and make sure you follow us on Twitter and Facebook, as we'll definitely be publicizing an Android-friendly version of Genbook when it arrives.

I would like to synch my appointments on my IPhone with my genbook account. How can I do this? I have loaded GenBook onto my IPhone and cannot get it to open up.
This would eliminate the need to double enter appointments, on my IPhone and also on the Genbook account.
Please help!

Cornelia said...

Keep in mind that the sync is one-way, so you won't be able to get appointments from your iPhone calendar into Genbook automatically.

The sync works through email notifications, so be sure you're using the email address that's linked to the iCal you use on your phone.

Does the Iphone version work with Ipod Touch as well?

I'd like to add my wishes for a blackberry app too!

Cornelia said...

Tabitha, I don't believe you can achieve the same functionality on the iPod Touch. We will build a Blackberry app at some point, as well.

What about palm? I have a pre and while I can login, I can't actually make any changes or schedule a new appointment on the calendar.

Cornelia said...

Christine, we may eventually support Palm, as well. I'm afraid I can't give a time frame on when that might be, though.

How are those Android and Blackberry mobile apps coming along? Any ETA? Thanks!

seth p said...

How is the progress on the android app coming? I love the scheduling, just wish I could go mobile without switching to iphone. I can't get the scheduling page to work right in the android browser, so an app is a must. Thanks!

Seth, we hope to have the Android app live later this year.

why do i get a blank screen when trying to access genbook from my iphone? help

Cornelia said...

Joe, so sorry to hear you're having trouble with the iPhone app! Without further info, I'm afraid I can't really say what's going on. Please email us from the Support tab within your account for in-depth support.

One thing you can try is to completely remove the Genbook app (icons included), then re-install it at m.genbook.com. That might fix the problem.

This is a great app!
I wonder how the customers could set up appointments with my business through their iPhones.
I would like to provide them with a link for a mobile device for them to schedule an appointment, similar the way that they do in a computer. Is that possible?
Thanks

Clients should be able to book via iPhones and other mobile devices. They should go to your website (or wherever you've posted the BookNow button) as usual, click it and proceed as they would from a computer.

Deidre said...

Android app? Please?

Cornelia said...

Deidre, we hope to have an Android app available in the second half of the year. In the meantime, you should be able to use the regular site in your Android browser.

Roy A. said...

Most of my staff have android phones and tablets, we have had an account for sometime now and love the new improvements on the site but being in an era where phones have replaced the need to use a computer, I think the Android app should have been a priority last year! Anyhow hope to hear of a better ETA.

P.s. please do not take offense

Cornelia said...

Roy, we definitely hear you. An Android app is a top priority and we hope to release it later this year.

I am considering purchasing the iPad for my business. Does the iPhone app work on the iPad?

Cornelia said...

Tara, you should be able to use the regular version of Genbook by just going to it in your Safari browser on the iPad.

CoachK said...

I just loaded the iphone app and it will not take my email and password that I use in genbook. Do I need to use a different one?

Cornelia said...

CoachK, I'm sorry you're having trouble with the iPhone app. Please contact our Customer Care Team from the Support tab of your account for troubleshooting and help.

I get "Genbook mobile does not currently support your device" when trying to access from my iPad?

Cornelia said...

Chris, please try using the full desktop site (not the mobile) on your iPad.
