So there's no need to worry about clients accidentally being charged for the appointment. This also means it won't matter if the client decides to use a different form of payment at the time of the service. Furthermore, it means there also aren't any processing fees or hidden/extra charges attached to the credit card capture feature.

Credit Card Capture Clarification
Sometimes Genbookers ask whether or not Genbook processes credit cards. While our online appointment scheduling tool does have the ability to capture, verify and store credit card details for you, we do not provide a payment gateway.

Does GenBook store the credit card numbers on your servers? Is my my customer data safe with you?
Steven, the credit card numbers are stored in your account, on our servers and is encrypted using online bank level encryption. Furthermore, it is password protected (you'll have to enter your Genbook password each time you want to view it).
Do clients have to re enter their card number every time they book an appointment?
Michael, yes they do.
so.....how and where do I view the password encrypted credit card information? I want to charge my clients for no shows...
Dr. Gary, when viewing the appointment in the calendar, click on it (to see its details) and you'll see a second tab "Credit Card". Click that tab, then enter your password when prompted. Please note this can only be done by viewing the appointment in the Genbook calendar (ie: not via the Inbox, Customers tab, etc).
A patient booked an appoointment through Genbook, and then no showed to the appointemnt. We tried to charge the credit card number provided for no showing to the appointment, but the card was declined. I thought Genbook checks the cards to make sure they are valid. How can we prevent this?
Rachael, our Credit Card Capture feature does validate the cards. However, it cannot verify what funds are in the account, nor account for any of the other reasons card charges may be declined. We can only verify the card information clients provide and ensure that at the time they are provided, the card is valid.
