The Reviews tab

You already know you have the option of publishing client/customer reviews. Now, here's a bit about more the Reviews tab, where you can see and manage all of your Genbook Verified Reviews.

Here's what your Reviews tab will look like:

On the upper right, you'll see the option to preview the review invites your clients receive, so you can see what they see when being asked to provide feedback about their appointments. Just click on "Customer Review form" to see what they'll see.

Clients will have the option of associating their names (either the full name or first name and last initial) or choosing "Other" and entering a name they feel gives them more privacy. The level of detail clients give about themselves and their appointments is totally within their control when they submit reviews.

In the Reviews tab itself, to the left of "Received," you'll see a little dropdown menu that, when you've got a review selected (ie: the box next to a review checked), will give you several options of what to do with that review.

As you can see, you have the option of publishing the review you selected (if the review were already published, then "Unpublish selected reviews" would be an option). You're also able to choose whether you'd like new reviews your business receives to be published automatically, without giving you a chance to look at them.

Many businesses choose to see the reviews before allowing them to be published. Manually publishing and unpublishing reviews can take up to 24 hours, so don't worry if you see "Pending Publication" under Status after you've made a change.

Because reviews are a great way to inspire confidence in your business, you should take advantage of the various options we offer for promoting your published reviews across the Web. You'll find these options at the top right of the Reviews tab page. You can share your reviews via your Twitter feed and on your personal Facebook profile (not to be confused with including the reviews in the BookNow App on your Facebook business page, as part of Genbook Promote).

You can even post a "Read Verified Customer Reviews" button on your website.

Click on the "this button" link, then follow the instructions for adding the Reviews button (Tip: It's just like adding the BookNow button to your site).

In the same way that the BookNow button takes clients directly to your online appointment scheduling page, the Reviews button will take them directly to your published Reviews page.

I usually get 5 star reviews and they help bolster my self esteem at my job, but I recently received a 1 star(I know who from... mix up in scheduling... my fault). Is there any way I can REMOVE this review from my list so I do not have to look at it and be forever reminded of this person's rudeness?

Reviews can certainly be unpublished, but they can't be totally removed from your Reviews tab. We're sorry if this causes you an inconvenience.

Do these reviews show up in google search? they would add to my positive presence on the web

Cornelia said...

Geraldine, no the reviews won't show up in Google searches.

Is there a way to customize the message sent to customers asking for a review?

Cornelia said...

No, I'm afraid the message cannot be customized.

For next tax season, I don't want to ask my existing clients to post another review. Can I control who gets my review request (new clients) while still showing all reviews in the scheduling tab?

Cornelia said...

Steve, the review invites are sent automatically every 6 months. We're sorry for any inconvenience.

I'm afraid it's difficult to say, at this time, whether/when Genbook reviews will appear in Google searches.

Is there a way to respond to reviews? One of mine stated a wish that I offered a service that I actually do offer - I'd like to be able to write that!

Cornelia said...

Cristina, I'm afraid it's not possible to respond to reviews. We're sorry about that!

Recently I thought I saw a newsletter from Genbook stating that in fact the Reviews would now be published throughout the web, on Google and such for others to see. Has that happened yet?

Cornelia said...

Alexandra, Genbook has optimized the reviews for publication on Google Places and elsewhere, however we don't have any control over when/how often they'll be indexed and the pages updated with them.

divine hands, there isn't a way to provide the Review link to clients who aren't booked via Genbook. We're sorry about that.

Hello, I know my new patients are sent the review request email. Is there a way to request reviews from existing patients?

Cornelia said...

marckramer, your existing patients receive review invites at 6 month intervals of their first appointment in Genbook.

So I would like to know when Genbook will be helping out small business by allowing the reviews to be linked to Google places?

Cornelia said...

Marcus, we did optimize our reviews for inclusion on Google Places pages. However, Google has since stopped publishing third party reviews on their Places pages. In addition, optimization by us does not guarantee a link by Google (we wish it could!).

I'm trying to put the review tab on my facebook page and I have no clue? Can anyone help me with this! Thanks

Cornelia said...

Leah, this blog post should help you get the reviews on your business's Facebook page.

I have customers that are getting review requests after estimates. Is there a way to disable reviews for particular service types? Does this also mean they do not receive a review once the service is delivered, if this is within 6 months of their estimate review invitation?

Also, I have a customer that wants to amend his review. How can this be accomplished?

I'd like the ability for clients who do not book through Genbook to write a review. I have many clients with regular, standing appointments. Is booking through Genbook the only way they will receive an email asking them to write a review or can I send them a link to write their review?

Cornelia said...

Lorinda, yes, the only way for clients to leave reviews is to have appointments in Genbook. The reviews can only be "verified" by us by virtue of being collected only from customers who've had appointments with you in our system.

Cornelia said...

Brad, there isn't a way to have review invites sent only for certain services at this time. Review invites will be sent every 90 days to existing customers, even if the customer has already left previous reviews. Reviews cannot be edited once they've been submitted.
